Don’t like the bouncy blue musical note on your Samsung Galaxy watch?

Gambar
What the heck is that blue musical note icon   anyway? If you’re confused about what that icon is and why it keeps appearing and blocking parts of your watch face, you are not alone. Believe it or not, this icon is meant to help you quickly access the app that’s playing at the time. Samsung calls these icons  ongoing   icon notifications  and the idea is that the icon shows up at the bottom of your watch’s screen and watch face to allow you one-touch access to the important apps that currently run on your watch, like music apps. Unfortunately, these ongoing icons often cause more trouble than convenience by blocking important parts of your screen or your watch face’s complications and other important data. Plus, the icons can sometimes get stuck at the bottom even after you stop using any music or video apps on your watch or phone. Although most people complain about the blue musical note, there are actually a bunch of other apps that also push an ongo...

Set up an animated emoji to quickly show you pending notifications on your watch If you pair it with a Samsung phone, this is a pretty cool feature on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. An animated and personal emoji shows up when you have pending notifications on your watch.   If you don’t have a Samsung phone, you can use two default generic AR emojis–one female and one male. To add an AR emoji to your watch face settings in the Wearable app, tap  Watch faces settings  and choose the  AR Emojis watch face . To use this feature, your Samsung phone needs to support the AR Zone feature so that you can create an AR-type photo of yourself to make that emoji. Find this feature in the camera app and slide to the right under ‘ More .’ Choose the AR emoji camera tool, tap  Create My Emoji , and follow the steps to create your own unique AR emoji! Once you set up an AR Emoji, it automatically syncs up to your watch, and you can  customize  it in the We...

REARRANGE APPS

Gambar
REARRANGE APPS One of the biggest changes in the Galaxy Watch 4 is the app arrangement. While previously all the apps would be arranged in a circle, now they are arranged in a hexagonal list. And the default arrangement may make it a tad difficult for you to locate the apps, especially if you are in a hurry. Thankfully, it doesn’t take long to re-arrange them as per your choice. All you need to tap and hold an app and drag it to the place of your choice. Cool, right? Do that for all the important apps and you will have an efficient app launcher in a short while.  Source : guidingtech.com

BRING ALL IMPORTANT COMPLICATIONS FORWARD

Gambar
BRING ALL IMPORTANT COMPLICATIONS FORWARD Like its predecessors, the Galaxy Watch 4 lets you play around with the watch faces. You can select from a minimal watch face or an activity-focused watch face. The best part is that you can customize these watch faces further and bring your favorite complications to the table. For instance, if you want the AQI, Barometer, and Step counter to show up on the home screen instead of Breathe and Sleep complications, you can do so. To customize the watch face on your Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, long-press on the watch face to go into Edit > Customize. Once done, tap on each of the complication spots, and pick one as per your preference. Source : guidingtech.com

MODIFY NOTIFICATIONS

Gambar
MODIFY NOTIFICATIONS The smartwatch is an extension of your smartphone, which means that your wrist will vibrate each time you receive an email, message, or any random notification on your phone. And at times, such situations can be a major distraction. Again at the same time, you can’t miss out on the important ones either. Thankfully, the Galaxy Watch 4 lets you choose the apps you wish to be notified about. To make the changes, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone, tap on Notifications. And well, you already know the rest of the story. Pro Tip: You can also choose to show notifications from the newly installed apps on your smartphone. Head over to Notifications > Advanced Notification Settings, and toggle the switch next to ‘Turn on for new apps’. Source : guidingtech.com

That’s when the Edit panel comes into the picture. To edit the Quick Panel, open the companion app and tap on the Quick Panel button. Tap on the Minus sign for the functions you don’t need. Once done, re-arrange the tiles as per your liking. Source : guidingtech.com

ENABLE AUTOMATIC LOCATION DETECTION

Gambar
ENABLE AUTOMATIC LOCATION DETECTION The Galaxy Watch 4 comes with automatic exercise detection for walking, running, swimming, etc. Once the watch detects that you are exercising for a fixed period, it will log in all the details. However, the watch doesn’t have automatic location detection enabled by default since switching on GPS at all times can hog battery life. But if you go for walks and runs outdoors, it’s wise to enable Location Detection. This way, it’s easy to track the run, the miles you have run, and the calories you have burned, among others. To enable Location Detection, open Settings > Samsung Health on your smartwatch and choose Auto to detect workouts. Next, scroll down until you see the option for Record Location, and toggle the switch next to it. Source : guidingtech.com

At the same time, you can tap on the options to see the correct way of shaking your wrists. Source : guidingtech.com

EDIT QUICK RESPONSES

Gambar
EDIT QUICK RESPONSES The watch lets you send a couple of set responses when you receive messages and texts. The default messages are generally in the tune of Yes, No, Thanks, etc. If you are used to sending slightly longer responses, then you might want to add new ones. For now, the system lets you add 30 characters in one message. So, you will have to be creative about what to add. To add new Quick Responses, go to Watch settings > General > Quick Responses, on your phone. Next, scroll down the page until you see the button for Add response. Source : guidingtech.com

Walkie Talkie

Gambar
Walkie Talkie Similar to Apple Watches, Samsung has introduced the Walkie Talkie feature on their Galaxy Watch 4. With this feature, two people holding Galaxy Watch 4 can communicate with each other. It is like having an instant conversation as if using a Walkie Talkie.   The watch doesn’t have this feature right out of the box. To get Walkie Talkie, install Samsung’s official Walkie Talkie app, released specially for Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic users. Once installed, it is recommended to pair the watch with your smartphone. On pairing, you will be able to invite contacts and people nearby. Tapping on people nearby creates a Walkie Talkie channel. Then, it shows you a code to share with people nearby who wants to join.   Overall, an awesome feature, but at the same time, both you and your partner need to own a Galaxy Watch 4.

Remapping Keys

Gambar
Remapping Keys The Galaxy Watch 4 comes with two buttons present on the right side of the watch. The first one is the home button, single tapping navigates you to the home and double-tapping takes you to the most recent app. The second key is the back button for navigating to the previous screen   Well, remapping keys allows setting custom tasks of your choice. To add custom tasks,  Go to Settings > Advanced features > Customize Keys . On customize keys option, you can set custom actions to trigger on-button interaction. Optimize Animation Speed

Gambar
Optimize Animation Speed With the power of Wear OS, you can now optimize the speed of touchscreen response and make it much snappier. Once developer mode is enabled,  Go to Settings > Developer Options > Scroll down to find Window Animation Scale > Choose 0.5x Animation Scale . The 0.5x animation scale is much snappier than the default 1x animation scale.

Enable Qwerty Keyboard

Gambar
Enable Qwerty Keyboard Galaxy Watch 4 still comes with a default T9 style keyboard. It is an old-school type keyboard that used to be supported by old keypad devices. However, devices with T9 style keyboard has become obsolete. We don’t know, why Samsung is using the old T9 style keypads to date. I personally hate this style as it creates difficulty in typing. Thankfully, Google play support lets you get rid of the old-school keypad by replacing it with a qwerty keypad called Gboard. You can finally install the  Gboard application  from the play store.   To change your default keyboard type,  Go to Settings > General > Input > Keyboard List > Tap on Default keyboard and choose Gboard .

Install Wide Variety of Apps

To install apps of your choice,  Go to Menu > Select Google Playstore > Search for particular apps or browse through the best recommendations .

Gesture Call Operation

Gambar
Gesture Call Operation Like previous Galaxy Watch models, answering and rejecting calls from Galaxy Watch 4 is possible. It is pretty convenient because it reduces the effort and saves time answering a call while on a busy work schedule. What makes it more convenient is using gestures to handle call operations. With hand gestures, you can answer calls in seconds.  How cool is that? Answer Call with Wrist Gesture To enable Gesture for answering calls,  Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Gestures > Select ‘Answer Calls’ > Enable . Now on shaking your arm twice, bending at the elbow can answer calls. To enable Gesture for rejecting calls,  Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Gestures > Dismiss alerts and calls > Enable . Now on rotating your wrist twice, it will dismiss calls or alarms.

Optimize Vibration Alerts

Gambar
Optimize Vibration Alerts The default vibration for notifications might not make you notice them. There are high chances for you to miss notification alerts. Thankfully, you can increase the intensity of vibration. To do this, Go to  Settings > Sounds & Vibration > Vibration > Set Vibration Intensity to “Strong” . Keep in mind that this setting increases battery consumption, especially on getting tons of notifications.
